The Rehearsal Dinner @22 Bowen's

The rehearsal dinner at 22 Bowen's marked the official start to Erin & Michael's wedding weekend in Newport, RI.  In keeping with American wedding tradition, we, the groom's parents - Peter & I, Maureen & Bill - hosted family  and the wedding party to cocktails and dinner following their rehearsal at the wedding venue in Goat Island.

This steak and seafood restaurant located on historic Bowen's Wharf is a classic harbor side tavern, rich in texture typical of steak houses but clearly evoking Newport charm with it's casual elegance, sophisticated appeal and warm genuine hospitality.   The second floor dining area was reserved entirely for the event and  the staff did a fantastic job in creating an atmosphere that was simple yet chic.  It was the perfect intimate setting for the families to mingle and get to know each other.

On the short walk to 22 Bowen's from the Marriott Hotel, I took the opportunity to take photos of my kiddos, Matt and Lexi and my soon to be future step daughter in law Katie.  How could I not with such beautiful soft light, and a beckoning background!
